Public Limited Company Registration Package: What Shunya's Fee Covers and What It Does Not

Quick Answer

Shunya's professional fee for public limited company registration is ₹1,999. It covers CA document verification, name check, DIN and DSC help, a public-company MOA and AOA, the SPICe+ filing, ROC queries and your Certificate of Incorporation with PAN and TAN. Government fees, stamp duty, the DSC issuer's charge and other third-party costs are billed separately.

What does Shunya's public limited company registration package include?

Shunya’s professional fee is ₹1,999, and it pays for a practising Chartered Accountant to take your company from documents to a Certificate of Incorporation, filed online on the MCA portal.

Say Farhan and five co-promoters are setting up an infrastructure venture that expects wide ownership over time. They need 3 directors and 7 shareholders in place and do not want to learn the MCA forms. What they are paying Shunya for is in the table; what they pay the government is a separate line.

SPICe+ stands for Simplified Proforma for Incorporating Company Electronically Plus. It is the single MCA web form that combines company name, incorporation, DIN, PAN and TAN applications.

What is billed separately from the professional fee?

The professional fee does not include government fees, state stamp duty, the DSC issuer’s charge or other third-party and statutory costs. They are billed separately, and your CA walks you through them on your callback.

What can be said as of September 2026, from widely reported sources rather than an official MCA page we could open:

Separately, note that a public company has larger continuing costs, such as a statutory audit every year. The full picture is in the public limited company registration cost guide, and the general version is in the company registration cost guide.

How does the process work step by step?

The process has four steps, from sharing your details to receiving the certificate, and the CA handles the filing.

  1. Share your details. Give your directors, proposed name, shareholder base and capital structure. A document checklist follows.
  2. CA verifies and prepares. The CA checks name availability, arranges DIN and DSC for directors, and prepares SPICe+ with a public-company MOA and AOA.
  3. Filing on the MCA portal. SPICe+ is filed with AGILE-PRO-S. Any officer query is handled for you.
  4. Certificate delivered. You receive your Certificate of Incorporation, PAN and TAN.

Elapsed time is not something Shunya promises for public companies; it depends on your documents, the name and any Registrar query. Sources vary widely, from a couple of weeks to several. The process and timeline guide explains what drives the range.

What must you have ready before you start?

You need at least 3 directors, at least 7 shareholders, and at least one director resident in India, since those are the minimums for a public company.

The full list, with mismatch traps that get applications sent back, is in the documents required guide. If fewer than 7 people will hold shares, you may be looking at the wrong structure. Read public limited vs private limited company first.

Should you do it yourself or pay a CA?

You can file a public company yourself on the MCA portal, and many people with clean documents and a simple structure do. Paying a CA makes sense when there are seven or more people to coordinate, when the name or documents are uncertain, or when a Registrar query is likely.

A public company has more moving parts than a private one: three DINs and seven subscribers to line up, and a bespoke MOA and AOA rather than a template. A mismatch between a PAN name and an Aadhaar name, or an address proof older than about two months, is enough to get an application sent back. The Registrar gives 15 days to correct and resubmit, so a rejection costs time rather than the whole application.

A CA review before filing is what you are paying for here. It is a judgment call, and if your structure is very simple and you are confident with the portal, doing it yourself is legitimate.

What should you ask any provider before paying?

Ask every provider, Shunya included, exactly what the quoted fee covers and what is billed on top, before you pay anything.

  1. Is the MOA and AOA drafted for a public company, or is a private template being edited?
  2. Who obtains the DSCs and DINs, and is the DSC issuer’s charge separate?
  3. Are government fees and stamp duty shown as a separate line at actual cost?
  4. Who handles Registrar queries after filing, and is that included?
  5. Does the scope end at the Certificate of Incorporation, or does it include post-incorporation steps such as INC-20A, the first auditor and the first board meeting? Ask for it in writing.
  6. Will you get the Certificate of Incorporation, PAN and TAN in digital form?

If you also want GST registration, a bank account or trademark help, ask on the callback whether and how those can be handled. They are not listed as part of Shunya’s public limited package.

How do you start?

You can start in two ways: request a free callback, or pay the professional fee online and begin straight away.

Have your proposed name, director details and a rough capital plan ready. The CA will confirm government fees, stamp duty and the DSC charge for your case on that first call, before you pay any of them. If public status turns out not to fit, a private limited company or an LLP might, and the CA can say so.

Frequently Asked Question

What does Shunya's public limited registration fee cover?

It covers CA document verification, company name check, DIN and DSC assistance, a public-company MOA and AOA, the SPICe+ filing with AGILE-PRO-S, handling Registrar queries, and delivery of your Certificate of Incorporation with PAN and TAN. A practising Chartered Accountant reviews every filing before it is made.

Frequently Asked Question

What is not included in Shunya's fee?

The DSC issuer's charge, government fees, state stamp duty and other third-party or statutory costs are billed separately. Your CA walks you through them on your callback and confirms the amounts for your authorised capital and state before you pay anything beyond the professional fee.

Frequently Asked Question

Is there a government fee for public company registration?

As of September 2026, the MCA incorporation fee is nil where authorised capital is 15 lakh rupees or less, and it rises in slabs above that. State stamp duty on the MOA and AOA is separate and varies by state. Your CA confirms both for your case before you pay.

Frequently Asked Question

How do I start with Shunya?

Open the Public Limited registration page and either request a free callback with your name and phone number, where a CA calls within the hour, or pay the professional fee online and start immediately. You can also call or WhatsApp +91 80809 18797 to speak to the team.

Frequently Asked Question

Can I register a public limited company myself?

Yes. Anyone can file SPICe+ on the MCA portal directly. A public company needs at least 3 directors and 7 members, DSCs for all of them and a public-company MOA and AOA, so coordination is heavier than for a private company. A CA review helps avoid rejections over name or document mismatches.

Frequently Asked Question

Does the package include GST registration or a bank account?

Shunya's Public Limited page lists SPICe+ with AGILE-PRO-S for PAN, TAN and GST-readiness and a certificate you can use to open a bank account. It does not list GST registration or bank account opening as included services, so ask your CA on the free callback if you need help with them.
