How this calculator works
This tool projects two separate investments and adds them together. Your lumpsum grows using standard annual compounding: Lumpsum FV = Lumpsum × (1 + rate ÷ 100)years. Your monthly SIP grows using the standard SIP future-value formula, which accounts for a fresh installment invested every month: with monthly rate r = annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100 and n = years × 12 months, SIP FV = Monthly SIP × [((1 + r)n − 1) ÷ r] × (1 + r).
The calculator simply sums the two: Total Future Value = Lumpsum FV + SIP FV. Total invested is the lumpsum amount plus the sum of every monthly SIP installment (Monthly SIP × number of months). Estimated returns is Total Future Value minus Total invested.
Set the lumpsum field to 0 and this becomes identical to a pure SIP calculation. Set the SIP field to 0 and it becomes identical to a pure lumpsum calculation — this tool is a combined view of both.
Why combine lumpsum and SIP?
Many investors don't choose one or the other — they might invest a lumpsum (a bonus, maturity payout, or existing savings) and also continue a monthly SIP alongside it. Modeling both together gives a more realistic picture of your total projected corpus than looking at either investment in isolation.
The return rate you enter is an assumption for planning purposes, not a forecast or guarantee. Actual mutual fund returns vary by fund category, market conditions, and time period, and can be negative in any given year.

Get Your ITR Filed →Can I combine a lumpsum and SIP in one plan?
Yes, many investors do both — this tool models combining a one-time lumpsum investment with an ongoing monthly SIP into a single projected future value.
Does this calculator apply to any mutual fund category?
The formula is generic — equity, debt, and hybrid funds all have different realistic return ranges, and this tool doesn't assume a category. Enter a return rate that's reasonable for the type of fund you're evaluating.
Is this the same as the SIP calculator?
It extends it — set the lumpsum amount to 0 and this calculator gives you the same result as the SIP-only calculator. Use this one when you're combining a lumpsum with a SIP.
Are the returns shown here guaranteed?
No. Mutual fund returns are market-linked and not guaranteed. The annual return rate you enter is an assumption you choose for planning purposes, not a promised or predicted outcome.
