FCRA Registration Package: Shunya's Professional Fee, What It Covers and What Is Billed Separately

Quick Answer

Shunya's professional fee for FCRA registration is ₹1,999. A practising CA assesses your route (Normal registration or prior permission), coordinates your FCRA account at SBI New Delhi Main Branch, files the application on fcraonline.nic.in and reviews it before filing. Government fees and other third-party or statutory costs are billed separately. As of September 2026.

What does Shunya's FCRA registration professional fee include?

Shunya's professional fee of ₹1,999 covers the CA-led work of taking your organisation from documents to an FCRA application: route assessment, SBI account coordination, filing on fcraonline.nic.in and CA review. The list below follows what the live FCRA registration page states.

Say Farah runs a Section 8 company in Lucknow that has been running livelihood programmes for four years and now has an overseas donor asking for an FCRA number. She wants to know exactly what she is buying before she pays. This page is written for that moment.

ItemCovered by the professional fee?
CA assessment of Normal registration vs Prior Permission for your caseYes, per the registration page
Review of your entity certificate, financials and activity report (or donor commitment letter)Yes, as part of route assessment and preparation
Coordinating your FCRA account at State Bank of India, New Delhi Main BranchYes, per the registration page

CA review before filingYes, a practising Chartered Accountant reviews every filing
Annual FC-4 return and renewalNo, separate services
Government fee, DSC issuer's charge, other third-party or statutory costsNo, billed separately

What is billed separately from Shunya's professional fee?

The government application fee, the DSC issuer's charge and any other third-party or statutory costs are billed separately from Shunya's professional fee, and your CA walks you through them on your callback. We do not quote them here because they can change.

As reported by compliance-firm summaries, the FCRA registration application fee under the rules as amended on 22 June 2026 is ₹10,000 for one purpose and one State or UT, with ₹300 more for each additional purpose and each additional State or UT. Treat that as indicative and confirm on fcraonline.nic.in. Our guide to FCRA registration cost and fees goes through the full cost picture.

Costs outside the FCRA filing also exist. If you must first form the entity, that is a separate exercise; see Section 8 company registration. If you need 12A and 80G tax exemption, that is a separate registration too, covered on the 12A and 80G page.

Ask early whether your application involves more than one purpose or more than one State or UT, since that changes the government fee under the reported 2026 structure. Your CA can count these from your activity report and give you the total before you pay the government portal.

What is not part of the package?

The package is for the FCRA registration application. Several things that NGOs often need alongside it are not listed on the live page as included, so treat them as separate conversations.

Anything you need beyond this list, ask your CA on the free callback instead of assuming it is included.

Why the split matters

FCRA work has two layers. The first is the application itself, where accuracy of documents, the right route and correct details for key functionaries decide whether MHA has queries. The second is what follows: the annual return, the renewal and the account discipline. A fee that covers only the first layer is fine, provided you know the second layer exists and who will look after it. Decide early whether your team or your CA handles it, and put a reminder for 31 December in the calendar.

How do you get started with Shunya's FCRA package?

You have two ways to start: request a free callback with your name and phone number, after which a CA calls within the hour, or pay the professional fee online through the "Start now" button on the registration page. You can also message or call +91 80809 18797 on WhatsApp.

  1. Share your documents. Your entity's registration certificate, three years of financials and an activity report; for prior permission, your donor's commitment letter.
  2. CA assesses the route. Normal registration or prior permission, based on your history and funding.
  3. SBI account and filing. Your FCRA account at SBI New Delhi Main Branch, and the application on fcraonline.nic.in.
  4. Certificate. You receive the registration certificate when MHA issues it. The FC-4 return is a separate service.

We do not promise a turnaround. MHA processing is generally reported to take several months, and the statutory window is reported as 90 days for renewals. Our process guide explains the stages.

Both routes are free to begin. The callback costs nothing, and you are not committing to the paid package until you choose to pay. If your CA finds that neither Normal registration nor prior permission fits yet, you will hear that on the call, along with what to build up first.

Are you eligible before you pay for the package?

Check eligibility before you pay, because registration only makes sense if your organisation qualifies. For Normal registration, the general benchmark is about 3 years of existence and about ₹15 lakh spent on core activities (excluding administrative expenses) in the preceding 3 years, as stated on the live page and in secondary sources. Confirm the current benchmark on fcraonline.nic.in.

If you do not meet it, prior permission for a specific donor and project may still be open to you. Read the eligibility guide and the comparison of registration and prior permission. Also note the June 2026 amendment rules, as reported, ordinarily do not consider associations with foreign-national key functionaries (other than persons of Indian origin or OCI). Tell your CA about your key people up front.

Having your papers ready speeds up the CA review; the documents guide has the checklist.

What should you ask any FCRA provider before you pay?

Ask any provider, Shunya included, to put the scope, exclusions and responsibilities in writing before you pay. The questions below apply to any FCRA consultant or CA.

Be wary of any promise about approval or timelines, since the decision rests with the Ministry of Home Affairs. A reasonable provider explains the risks as well as the process. If you would rather compare structures before deciding, see the company registration overview.
